FanDuel과 DraftKings는 네바다 주 규제 기관이 예측 시장 운영을 통해 스포츠 계약을 제공하는 것이 지역 게임법을 위반한다고 판결한 후 네바다에서 철수했습니다.
11월 12일, 네바다 게임 통제 위원회(NGCB)는 Flutter Entertainment의 라이선스 자발적 포기를 수락하고 DraftKings의 라이선스 신청 철회 요청을 승인했습니다.
NGCB에 따르면 두 운영사 모두 스포츠 이벤트 계약과 관련된 불법 활동을 추구하려고 했기 때문에 이러한 결정이 내려졌습니다.
이러한 발전은 Flutter가 CME와의 새로운 예측 시장 합작사인 FanDuel Predict를 통해 다음 달 스포츠 계약을 시작할 계획이라고 발표한 후에 이루어졌습니다. Flutter의 3분기 보고서는 파트너십이 50/50 수익 분배로 운영될 것이라고 확인했습니다. 한편, DraftKings는 CFTC에 등록된 플랫폼인 Railbird를 인수한 후 자체 출시를 준비하고 있습니다.
NGCB는 다음과 같이 밝혔습니다 .
이러한 행위는 네바다 주 게임 산업에 참여할 수 있는 능력과 양립할 수 없습니다. 이사회는 번영하는 게임 산업을 운영하고 네바다 주민들을 보호해야 할 의무를 심각하게 받아들이고 있습니다. 이번 상황은 예측 시장에 진출하는 사업자들이 특정 주 라이선스를 위험에 빠뜨릴 수 있음을 보여주는 가장 분명한 징후입니다.
FanDuel의 네바다 라이선스는 소매 스포츠북에만 적용되었지만, 다른 주에서 이와 유사한 규제 조치를 취한다면 더 심각한 결과를 초래할 수 있습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 Flutter 경영진은 자신감 있는 태도를 유지했습니다.
